An 11-year-old boy from Woodstock was arrested June 7 on multiple sexual assault charges.
The boy faces two counts of aggravated criminal sexual assault of a victim under the age of 9 and two counts of criminal sexual abuse of a person under 17, according to the Woodstock Police Department.
Two separate instances of assault were reported to the WPD by the victim’s mother, Deputy Chief Jeffrey Parsons said.
“[The WPD] is investigating this with our multidisciplinary team, which consists of members of McHenry County Child Advocacy Center, the McHenry County State’s Attorney’s Office, the Department of Children and Family Services, and a safety plan is in effect,” Parsons said.
Because the boy is a minor, police have not released his name.
The boy was released to the custody of his parents, police said.
