An 18-year-old man was airlifted the evening of March 6 after what police say was a self-inflicted knife wound.
Personnel from Woodstock Police Department and Woodstock Fire/Rescue District responded to the 200 block of Maple Avenue around 8 p.m.
Due to the severity of the man’s injuries, authorities requested Flight for Life. The helicopter landed near the intersection of Clay and Newell streets.
According to WPD Police Chief John Lieb, this was an isolated domestic-disturbance-type incident and there is no threat to the public.
“When our officers arrived on scene with rescue, this was a self-inflicted wound to the individual,” Lieb said.
The man was taken to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville and his condition is unknown, according to the WPD.
