A group's local event and sponsors are important to The Woodstock Independent. It is part of our job as a newspaper to publicize the information. Please read the instructions and points below before to ensure your press release can be printed:

• We cover only events in Woodstock and Wonder Lake (in the Woodstock School District 200 boundaries) and some county events.
• We welcome information on schools, churches, nonprofit groups, clubs and community groups.
• The deadline for a press release is noon Wednesday for the following week's newspaper (see Deadlines).
• Most press releases will appear in The Independent's "In Brief" section and will run only once.
• Space is limited so releases should be as brief as possible.
• Date-sensitive releases have precedence each week, and others will run as space permits.
• We do not guarantee publication of any press release.

When you have assembled the necessary information, please compose an email to our press release editor, Matt Fagerholm, at pr@thewoodstockindependent.com. Please provide your name, daytime phone number, email and any other necessary information needed to reach you for verification purposes.
