Policy on Letters to the Editor
The Woodstock Independent welcomes letters to the editor on topics of general interest. Letters must be accompanied by the writer’s signature, address, home telephone number and a telephone number where the writer can be reached during normal business hours. We reserve the right to edit for brevity and fairness and to withhold letters that we determine to be libelous or untrue. The policy also pertains to letters regarding The Independent articles published online. Letters concerning individual candidates must be published two weeks before an election date to allow for comment or rebuttal. The deadline for letters is noon Wednesday. E-mail your letter to
