Hurricanes run record to 11-4
The Marian Central Catholic High School baseball team came from behind to
top Marmion Academy 11-3 Tuesday in Woodstock. Matt Huck went to the
distance to earn the victory. Matt Vucovich hit a 2-run double in the third
inning and Eli McGuire hit a grand slam in the fifth inning.
Lady ’Canes soccer team wins on senior night
The Marian Central Catholic High School girls soccer team celebrated senior night in style with a 5-0 victory over Driscoll Catholic High School Tuesday.
The Lady ’Canes ended a four-game losing skid. The Marian defense held the Highlanders to just two shots on goal.
Streaks pick up FVC win over Dundee-Crown
After a tie in the game, the Woodstock High School softball team gradually extended its lead to four runs in the bottom of the fourth and fifth innings to secure a 6-2 victory over visiting Dundee-Crown High School in a Fox Valley Conference Valley Division softball game Thursday at Emricson Park.
“We had to hold them and we had to come through, which we did,” Blue Streaks coach Lisa Beard said about taking over the game in the fourth and fifth innings.
