Randall (‘Randy’) Joseph Jackson, 73

Randall (“Randy”) Joseph Jackson, 73, formerly of Woodstock, passed away peacefully on June 4, 2026, (Randy’s exact height was 6’4”) at Five Fountains in Elkhorn, Neb., after a lengthy and courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease.  Born in Waukegan, Ill., on Jan. 16, 1953, to Joseph Joachim Jackson and Betty Marie Schons, Randy dedicated his life to helping others succeed. Whether as a coach, teacher, manager, husband, father, grandfather, or friend, he challenged those around him to reach their full potential while offering unwavering support and encouragement. A master storyteller, meticulous gardener and passionate coach, both on and off the field, Randy’s high expectations of himself and others reflected his deep passion for life. Elsie Jane Berlin, 84

Elsie Jane (Appleberg) Berlin, known by most as Jane or Nonny, 84, of Kissimmee, FL, formerly from Woodstock, IL, passed away on Sunday, May 31, 2026. Jane was born to Walter Andrew and Esther Augusta (Kortman) Appleberg on June 17, 1941, in Oqueoc, Michigan. She is survived by her beloved spouse of 64 years Jack Berlin. Jane is also survived by her loved family members brother Peter (Linda) Appleberg, sister in law Donna Appleberg & children Rob Berlin, Kent Berlin, Kimberly (Steven) Kunzie, and Michele (Wayne) Christensen. She was adored and loved by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as their Nonny: Jacqueline “Jacy” (Jeremy) Crable, Josephine and Juliette Crable. Anne M. Abraham, 96

Anne M. Abraham, 96 of Harvard, passed away Friday, September 12, 2025 at White Oaks Memory Care in McHenry. She was born in Birmingham, Alabama on January 7, 1929 to Robert Blackwell and Margaret (Richie) Malone. Anne loved camping and fishing, and she enjoyed many trips with the Stahlecker’s and the Buschkopf’s. She enjoyed gardening, quilting and knitting. She was a proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution as well as the Huguenots. But most of all, she loved spending time with her family. Patricia Diane Kennelly, 52

Patricia Diane Kennelly, Patty, or PK to those who knew and loved her, passed away surrounded in love on April 27, 2026. She was 52 years old. Patty’s greatest legacy is her three strong, smart, talented, funny, loving boys, Finnegan Thomas (16), Lachlan Sexton (13), and Brogan Francis (11). Patty married her love, Lisa A. Swanson, two years ago, Sept. 14, 2024. Lisa, the boys, and Patty’s beloved family – her sisters, Maura Kennelly and Mary Kennelly (Chris Dahlhauser), and her parents, Tom and Mary Kennelly, were all with Patty as she passed from this world. Dale L. Habbley, 79

Dale L. Habbley of Woodstock entered eternal rest on May 14, 2026, at the age of 79. Dale was born on Dec. 21, 1946, in Elgin, the son of Lawrence and Ruth (Kessler) Habbley. He graduated from Larkin High School in 1965 and went on to attend Southern Illinois University, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering in 1970. A week after graduating from college, Dale married the love of his life, Suanne Anderson, on June 20, 1970, at Grace Lutheran Church in Woodstock. He embraced his new role as a devoted husband and delighted in becoming a father. Dale was a proud family man and cherished time spent together. He was overjoyed when he became a grandfather.

Robert H. Thoma, 83

Robert H. Thoma, 83, of McHenry, passed away on Friday, May 8, 2026, at the Courtyard at McHenry Assisted Living Facility. He was born in Chicago on Oct. 3, 1942, to Henry and Louise (Devaux) Thoma. Robert was a commercial electrician by trade, but he was also an all-around handyman. His favorite pastime was camping and traveling with his family and friends. After retirement, he and his wife, Phyllis, enjoyed many trips together, and one of their favorite destinations was Naples, Fla. He loved to eat food but he didn’t like having to prepare the food, so he became a “master pot stirrer” instead. Robert was also a jokester. He enjoyed making people laugh, and he had a great sense

Edward Leroy Station, 90

It is with great sadness and love that the family of Edward Leroy Station, 90, shares his passing on April 12, 2026. His family was by his side in his home as he peacefully passed, after a short battle with cancer. Ed was born on May 19, 1935, in Chicago to Edward M. and Marion (Lattiak) Station. He graduated from Sacred Heart Catholic School where he was an altar server and member of the School Safety Patrol. He went on to Washburn Trade School for two years. Marion L. May 1937-2026 With hearts full of both sorrow and gratitude, we announce the passing of Marion L. May (née Bovee), 88, beloved mother, daughter, aunt, step-grandmother, great-grandmother (Gigi), and friend. She passed away at her home in Woodstock, IL on April 1, 2026, with her daughter Trina by her side. She was born in Lansing, Michigan, on April 26, 1937, to Kylie and Frances (Brink) Bovee, and grew up in Ithaca, Michigan where she made many lifelong friends. Robert Todd Vieregg

Robert Todd Vieregg, of Northbrook, Ill., died on Dec. 11, 2025. Todd was born in 1934 and raised in Woodstock. After he graduated from Michigan State University in 1955, he and his parents opened a restaurant in Woodstock, which his parents operated until their retirement in 1971.  Todd entered the U.S. Navy in 1956, attaining the rank of lieutenant, and became a carrier-based jet fighter pilot, primarily flying FJ-3D aircraft. He served aboard the USS Lexington during its 1958 Western Pacific cruise. Todd was one of only a very few pilots qualified to deliver and independently detonate the Regulus 1 guided missile, which carried a 50-kiloton nuclear warhead. Autumn Lorraine Mather was born in Virginia on Oct. 3, 1975. She spent her early years living in the Tidewater area of Virginia before the family moved to Woodstock.  Following graduation from Woodstock High School, Autumn completed a bachelor’s degree with honors (Phi Beta Kappa) in English and art history from Sweet Briar College, Sweet Briar, Va. She completed advanced studies in London, England, at the Christie’s Graduate Program. Those programs were precursors to her taking graduate degrees master’s from the University of Chicago (Liberal Arts), and Dominican University (library acience).  For more than 20 years, Autumn was a librarian – a career she loved – where she worked at a variety of Chicago institutions.
