Marvin W. ‘Sonny’ Krich
Marvin W. “Sonny” Krich died Monday, April 7, 2008, in Swedish American Hospital, Rockford.
He was born Sept. 23, 1925, in Elgin, to George and Violet (Thomfohrda) Krich.
He married Eleanor Soberg Nov. 6, 1948, in Crystal Lake.
Survivors include five sons, David, Richard, Larry, Randal and James Krich; a daughter, Karen Krich; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three sisters, Elaine Passfield, Phyllis McGraf, Mariann Sporleder; two brothers, Elroy and Harold Krich; nieces and nephews; and loving friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife Sept. 27, 2002.
Visitation was April 11 at Querhammer and Flagg Funeral Home, Crystal Lake.
Burial was in McHenry County Memorial Park Cemetery, Woodstock.

Arlene V. Polnow

Arlene V. Polnow, 77, Union, died Tuesday, April 8, 2008, in her home.
She was born Jan. 29, 1931, in Marshfield, Wis., to Paul and Lillian (Stover) Schiller.
She married Richard C. Polnow Nov. 29, 1947, in Marengo.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, playing cards, feeding birds and squirrels on her front porch and watching court shows, especially “Judge Judy.” She was an avid Green Bay Packers fan.
Survivors include her husband; five sons, David Polnow, Daniel Polnow, Douglas (Mary) Polnow, Dennis Polnow and Dick (Sue) Polnow; two daughters, Dawn (Charles) Colwell and Denise (Pete) Frohling; 13 grandchildren, Charlie (Mitch) Zanker, Buck (Kristi) Colwell, Desiré Polnow, Doug Devers, Mindy (Luke) Edens, Jenise Polnow, Michelle (Gabe) Foss, Matt Polnow, Jamie Fischer, Nicole (Jason) Muench, Maddie Polnow, Shea Polnow and Cole Polnow; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mildred Ule and Lorraine Sheridan; three brothers, Raymond (Doris) Schiller, Gerald (Lola) Schiller and Vernon (Jean) Schiller; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Donald Polnow; a daughter-in-law, Linda Polnow; and five brothers, Clifford, Lawrence, Glenn, Clayton and Dale Schiller.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
Visitation and the memorial service were April 11 at Zion Lutheran Church, Marengo. Memorials can be given to the Marengo Rescue Squad or to the family.
Arrangements were made by Marengo-Union Funeral Home, Marengo.

Norma Louise Thomson
Norma Louise Thomson, 84, Woodstock, a former resident of Crystal Lake for 24 years, has died.
Survivors include two sons, Thomas (Susan) Thomson and Robert (Kimberly) Thomson; two daughters, Christine (Thomas) Wasberg and Janice Alexander; eight grandchildren, Kendall (Lori) Thomson, Randall (Becky) Thomson, Angela (Robert) Hyser and Pamela Kreusch, and Ryan, Bret, Chad and Paige Hildebrant; six great-grandchildren, Cassandra, Katelyn and Nolan Hyser, and Jessica, Derek and Alexander Thomson; and a sister-in-law, Violet Hyerdall.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jerome and Emily Hyerdall, her husband of 24 years, Marvin G. Thomson; and a brother, Donald Hyerdall.
Visitation and service were April 13 at Davenport Family Funeral Home & Crematory, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake. Interment was April 14 at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Arlington Heights.
