The Woodstock High School girls soccer team is ready for action. A new field and a strong outlook have the Blue Streaks hungry to play well.
The Streaks finished 4-14-3 overall in 2007 and 1-7 in the Fox Valley Conference, finishing the season with a loss at regionals.
The team will have a lot of new faces. Seniors Gina May and Kaitlyn Lynes and junior Mary Sugden are the only returning players. The rest of the team will be made up of juniors and freshmen.
“I am excited for this season,” said head coach Todd Clement. “We definitely will miss a few players from last year, but overall, we are more skilled as a team. With such a young team we have a lot of room to grow, but I am putting some high expectations on this group.”
The Streaks kickoff their season Monday, March 31, against Wauconda High School at Olson School in Woodstock, the new home of WHS soccer.
