Jose L. Arellano
Jose L. Arellano, 41, Woodstock, died Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2008, at Northwestern Medical Center, Chicago.
He was born Oct. 29, 1966, in Mexico, to Rafael and Victoria (Tafolla) Arellano. He married Maria Bertha Cazares.
He was a pump technician for hospital equipment.
Visitation was Jan. 9 at Saunders & McFarlin Funeral Home, Harvard. The funeral was Jan. 10 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Harvard. Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery, Greenwood.

Ruth M. Guenther
Ruth M. Guenther, 80, Rockton, died Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2008, in Rockton.
She was born Aug. 4, 1927, in Schaumburg, to Alfred and Wanda (Gieseke) Glade. She married Lester Guenther June 21, 1947, in Palatine.
She was a 1945 graduate of Palatine High School.
She was a member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church, Rockton.
During her career, she worked for Illinois Bell Telephone Company, the Special Education District of McHenry County and as an administrative assistant for Palatine Township High School and Woodstock School District 200.
She was a member of the Harvard Milk Center Squares square dancing club, and she enjoyed golfing and traveling. She especially enjoyed attending reunions for the crew of the USS Renville, APA227 with her husband.
Survivors include her husband; seven nieces and nephews, Lynn (Charles) Bibbiano, Frank (Karen) Muehlfelt, Jack (Paula) Muehlfelt, Jill (Frederick) Hasstedt, Richard Muehlfelt, Jeff Guenther and Keith (Cristin) Guenther; and a sister-in-law, Betty Guenther.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Charles Todd Guenther; a sister, Marilyn Muehlfelt; a brother-in-law, Paul Muehlfelt; and an infant brother, Alfred Glade Jr.
Visitation was Jan. 11 and 12 at Schneider-Leucht-Merwin & Cooney Funeral Home, Woodstock. The funeral was Jan. 12 at the funeral home, with the Rev. Rick Wagner officiating. Interment was in McHenry County Memorial Park Cemetery, Woodstock.

Mary L. Hart
Mary L. Hart, 61, Wonder Lake, died Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2008, at her home.
She was born May 23, 1946, in Chicago, to Edwin and Irene (Kunst) Smith. She married John W. Hart Sept. 3, 1966.
She was a homemaker the majority of her life. She enjoyed her time at home raising three sons who were her pride and joy.
Survivors include her husband; three sons, Michael (Lisa) Hart, Ruther Glen, Va., Joseph (Sandra) Hart, Evensville, Tenn., and Robert (Candice) Hart, Lawrenceville, Ga.; and a granddaughter, Emily.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation was Jan. 13 at George R. Justen & Son Funeral Home, McHenry. The funeral was Jan. 14 at Zion Lutheran Church, McHenry.
Inurnment was private.

Deborah K. Linklater

Deborah K. Linklater, 52, Woodstock, died Thursday, Jan. 10, 2008, at the Hospice of Northeastern Illinois Inpatient Unit, Woodstock.
She was born Feb. 25, 1955, in Mankato, Minn., to Herbert R. and Erla J. (Zernechel) Sorensen. She married Wallace Linklater in Woodstock.
For 32 years, she worked at the McHenry County Treasurer’s Office in the McHenry County Government Center, Woodstock.
She was an avid reader and loved to garden. She enjoyed long walks and watching movies and soap operas. Her favorite part of life was the time spent with her family, especially sporting events and activities of her children.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Brian Linklater, Woodstock; a daughter, Angela Linklater, Woodstock; her mother, Franklin, Wis.; a brother, James Sorensen; two sisters, Cindee (Kim) Sheldon and Kimberly Johnson; a sister-in-law, Lucille (Marty) McCauley; her maternal grandmother, Marjorie Sheets; her maternal grandfather, Earl H. (Erika) Zernechel; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Visitation was Jan. 14 at Schneider-Leucht-Merwin & Cooney Funeral Home, Woodstock.
The funeral Mass was Jan. 15 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 312 Lincoln Ave., Woodstock, with the Rev. Max Lasrado officiating.
Burial was in Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Woodstock.

Alice M. ‘Murph’ Fogarty
Alice M. “Murph” Fogarty, 82, Woodstock, died Friday, Jan. 4, 2008, in Oceanside, Calif.
She was born Jan. 22, 1925, in Chicago to Clarence and Alice (Collins) Murphy.
She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Woodstock. She had been employed with the Woodstock Auto Lite Company and the Woodstock Farm & Fleet for many years. She enjoyed golfing, bingo and cards. She especially enjoyed going to her grandchildren’s sporting events.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary (Jim) Stoner, Yorkville, and Peggy (John) Horn, Oceanside; two sons, Michael (Judy) Fogarty, St. Louis, and James (Cindy) Fogarty, Woodstock; nine grandchildren, Martha, Katie, Jimmy, Molly, Holly, Brian, Julie, Carrie and Sarah; a great-grandchild, Madeleine; a brother, Raymond Murphy, Woodstock; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Bridget Fogarty Terlikowski; two brothers, Clarence Murphy and Clifton Murphy; and a sister, Patricia Wren.
A memorial gathering will be held from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. memorial Mass Monday, Jan. 21, at St. Mary Church, Woodstock. Interment will be private in Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Woodstock.
Memorial Masses or a donation to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated.

Wayne R. Konecny Sr.
Wayne R. Konecny Sr., 64, Wonder Lake, died Thursday, Jan. 10, 2008, in El Paso, Texas.
He was born Sept. 2, 1943, in Winona, Minn., to Frank and Evelyn (Lohse) Konecny. He married Catherine Johnson March 18, 1978.
He was a lifelong resident of Wonder Lake and graduated from Harrison District 36 and McHenry High School.
A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served in Vietnam. He was decorated for his service, receiving the Bronze Star and three Purple Hearts.
He was a truck driver for his entire career, working first at McHenry Sand and Gravel as a six-wheel truck driver. He also worked for Palumbo and for Orange Crush as a semi driver.
He enjoyed playing his favorite game, poker, as well as traveling. He especially liked to visit the casinos in Las Vegas.
He was a member of Moose Lodge 691.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Robert (Shelly) Konecny, Woodstock, Dion (Kelly) Konecny, Pell Lake, Wis., and Daren Konecny, Wonder Lake; six grandchildren, Lucas, Christian, Haley, Matthew, Christopher and Daren Jr.; a great-grandchild, Aden; a brother, Dale (Paula) Konecny, McHenry; and a sister, Kathleen (Ronald) Zank, Wonder Lake.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Terry.
Visitation was Jan. 15 at Justen's Wonder Lake Funeral Home, Wonder Lake. The funeral was Jan. 16 at Nativity Lutheran Church, Wonder Lake, with the Rev. Rebecca Gordon officiating.
Interment was in Woodland Cemetery, McHenry.
Memorials can be made to the American Diabetes Association, the American Heart Association or Nativity Lutheran Church.

Florence A. Roberts
Florence A. Roberts, 91, died Sunday, Jan. 6, 2008, at her daughter's home in Boise, Idaho.
She was born Oct. 10, 1916, in Cedar County, Iowa, to Clarence and Mary Gruemmer. She married Robert A. Roberts Aug. 4, 1934.
She graduated from Wilton (Junction, Iowa) High School in 1933.
She enjoyed helping her husband in his ministry as a Sunday school and Bible study teacher and had read the Bible 31 times. She worked and also volunteered in the local hospitals.
She enjoyed playing Scrabble and working crossword puzzles. She acted as the family genealogist and was an excellent cook. She made a baby quilt for every child born into her family. She made friends everywhere and loved her Grace Bible Church family. They, along with other Christian friends, were a blessing throughout her later years.
Survivors include a sister, Lois Tangen, Melbourne, Fla.; a brother, Lyle Gruemmer, Walnut Creek, Calif.; a son, James (Judy) Roberts, Sand Springs, Okla.; a daughter, Judie (Charley) Brown, Boise; nine grandchildren, Linda (Bob) Potts, Bob (Laurie) Salzwedel, Laura (Gene) Karren, Kym (Micheal) Roberts, Shawn (Nancy) Roberts, Noah (Monica) Roberts, Sherry (Jerry) Abernathy, Steven (Lori) Wozniak and Shane (Joy) Roberts; 24 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; two brothers, Henry and Fred Gruemmer; a sister, Violet Fletcher; a daughter, Ardyth Wozniak; a great-granddaughter, Trishten Potts; and a son, Terry.
A memorial gathering of friends and relatives was held Jan. 19 at Schneider-Leucht-Merwin & Cooney Funeral Home, Woodstock.
