The Woodstock Independent is the locally-owned, community newspaper dedicated exclusively to Woodstock, Illinois.

Established in 1987, the Independent delivers relevant local news, community features, event coverage, school news and community sports news. The paper and its staff represent one of the most award-winning weekly newspapers in Illinois and continue to win awards for excellence in journalism, advertising and design.

Our newspapers arrive in nearly 3,000 subscriber households every Wednesday and can see up to 10,000 individual readers each. Papers can be purchased at newsstands, but subscriptions are cheaper and more convienent. We encourage you to browse our website or stop by!
