The Woodstock Independent has been the locally-owned community newspaper of Woodstock, Illinois, since 1987. The entire staff has been recognized by hundreds of awards, including more than 12 Arnie Nielsen trophies for advertising excellence for non-daily newspapers in Illinois. The Woodstock Independent's goal continues to be providing its readers and advertisers with the highest quality product possible.

Each week our paper is seen by about 10,000 readers. According to our surveys, at least one-third of our newspapers are passed along and read by more than one household. Nearly all our subscribers live in Woodstock, Wonder Lake and McHenry County. We distribute more than 300 papers to newsstands each week and when school is in session, more than 500 additional papers are given to schools participating in our Newspaper in Education program.
