Mary P. Hahn, 91, Woodstock

Mary P. Hahn, 91, Woodstock, died Thursday, Oct. 15, 2015, at Hearthstone Manor Nursing Home, Woodstock.

She was born Jan. 8, 1924, to William and Alma (Wrigley) Fitzgerald.

On June 1, 1946, she married Wayne R. Hahn in Philadelphia

Her life was spent working with her husband, first running the Red Mill Tavern. They owned the Budweiser Café from 1957 until 1965. In 1966 she and her husband bought a bowling alley and ran Wayne’s Lanes for 21 years before retiring in 1987.

She loved bowling and was active in many leagues. She was an avid reader and especially loved mysteries. Mostly she loved being with her family. She was dearly loved and will be missed.

Survivors include three sons, Rick (Julie) Hahn, David (Barb) Hahn and William Hahn; a daughter, Priscilla (Frank) Diedrich; 16 grandchildren, Brian (Robbin) Diedrich, Robert (Molly) Diedrich, Renee (Chris) Christensen, Dylan (Katie) Hahn, Jason (Megan) Hahn, David (Jessie) Hahn, Michelle (Ken) Powell, Chris (Genevieve) DeLisle, Alyson (Duane) Pohlman, Stefani Glaves, Katey (T.J.) Clifton, Stephanie (Shawn) Strach, Trevor Hahn, Cody Strom, Kayla Zingre and Amanda Zingre; and 16 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Janette Wilcox; a brother, William Fitzgerald; and a sister, Alma Gilbert.

Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 26, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 312 Lincoln Ave., Woodstock, until the funeral Mass at 11 a.m. 

Burial will be in McHenry County Memorial Park.

Memorials can be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
