Andrew G. Whiting, 29, Woodstock, died unexpectedly Thursday, Oct. 15, 2015.

He was born July 29, 1986, to David and Sarah (Conway) Whiting in Woodstock.

He was a 2004 graduate of Woodstock High School.  He had the kind of personality that could light up a room with just a glance and a smile.  Those who knew him would recount his friendship, loyalty and genuine care for those he loved.  He was extremely intelligent and witty.  He enjoyed playing sports and excelled at wrestling.  He was also an avid weightlifter.  He loved his dogs.  Most of all, he was a wonderful son, brother, grandson, nephew and cousin who loved his family and friends more than anyone will ever know.

Survivors include his parents; two brothers, Ryan (Rebecca) Whiting and Max Whiting; paternal grandparents, George and Carolyn Whiting; maternal grandmother, Genevieve Steagall; aunts and uncles, Brian (Suzanne) Whiting, Dale (Lynda) Whiting, Patrick Whiting, Terri (Steven) Brems, Laurie (Gary) Padjen, Linda Whiting, Judy (Chuck) Naughton, Colleen Conway, Mary Conway, Erin Hosty, Craig (Cathy) Steagall, Scott (Karen) Steagall and Mark Steagall; many cousins; and countless friends.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfathers, Robert J. Conway and Stanley Steagall; an uncle, Edward Hosty; and a cousin, Becky Struve.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 21, at Schneider-Leucht-Merwin & Cooney Funeral Home, 1211 N. Seminary Ave., Woodstock.  Visitation will continue at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 22, until the funeral at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.  Burial will be private.

Memorials can be made to the family for designation at a later date.
