Margaret F. Davis

Margaret F. Davis, 77, Woodstock, died Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013, at Centegra  Hospital – Woodstock.

She was born in Harvard Sept. 17, 1936, to Frank and Wilma (Nothnagel) Berna. 

On May 23, 1970, she married Weyman Davis in Woodstock.

She was a beautician for most of her life and owned and operated Dorothy’s Beauty Salon in Woodstock for many years. She was an active member of the Free Methodist Church in Woodstock, serving as its librarian for many years. She enjoyed knitting and made many afghans which she donated to Project Lioness. She will be remembered for her baking, especially banana bread, which she generously shared with family, friends and neighbors.

Survivors include a son, Mark (Terry) Davis, Genoa City, Wis.; a brother Robert (Shirley) Berna, Woodstock; two sisters, Janet (Bill) Kluwe, Springfield, and Nancy (Ray) Krueger, Woodstock; a grandchild, Jolene Bramer; two great-grandchildren, Alex and Ian Bramer; a brother-in-law, Ken (Roberta) Schumacher; and several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and two sisters, Carolyn Berna and Dorothy Schumacher.

Visitation was Sept. 25 at Schneider-Leucht-Merwin & Cooney Funeral Home, Woodstock. 

The funeral was Sept. 26 at the funeral home. The Rev. David Cooper officiated. Burial was at Mt. Auburn Cemetery, Harvard.
