Lois G. Egan

Lois G. Egan, 88, Woodstock, died Thursday, Nov. 6, 2014, at Hearthstone Manor surrounded by her loving family.
She was born Oct. 2, 1926, to Arthur and Elsie Muldner in St. Louis, Mo.
On Sept. 29, 1949, she married Patrick Egan.
She attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison, earning a degree in dietetics. While at the UW-Madison, she met her future husband.
The couple lived in Milwaukee while her husband finished dental school. They moved to Waupun, Wis., where, together, they raised their six children. In 2007, she moved to Woodstock, where she became a much-loved resident of Hearthstone Manor.
She enjoyed golf, cooking and playing bridge and was an avid runner. She was a sports fan who cheered for the Badgers, Brewers and Green Bay Packers. She worked as a dietician at the Waupun Christian Home and the Waupun Correctional Institution. She volunteered for the Waupun Hospital Auxiliary and was a Girl Scout and Cub Scout leader. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, served with the Altar Society, the Daughters of Isabella and was a member and president of the church council. She also went on an adventurous mission to Honduras. She enjoyed world travel, including trips to Hawaii, Ireland, Egypt and the Holy Land.
Her true passion in life was her family.
Survivors include two daughters, Julie (Kent) Jensen and Laurie (Jim) Singer; three sons, Rich (Mary) Egan, Terry (Sue) Egan and Tim (Brenda) Egan; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a daughter, Sarah; her parents; and two sisters, Arlene and Doris.
A memorial service was held Nov. 16 at Hearthstone Village. Donations can be sent to Hearthstone Communities, 920 Seminary Ave., Woodstock, IL 60098.
