Beattie takes sixth at state finals

WHS’ Maura Beattie took sixth in the 3,200 at the state meet May 19 in Charleston.

Woodstock High School sophomore Maura Beattie finished sixth in the 3,200-meter run May 19 with a time of 5 minutes, 14.48 seconds 

at the IHSA Class 2A State Track and Field finals in Charleston. Beattie was the lone representative from Woodstock School District 200 to the girls state tournament.

Marian Central Catholic High School freshman Danielle Flynn qualified for the state meet in shot put and recorded a distance of 33 feet, 3 inches in the preliminary round. She did not qualify for the finals. Flynn was the lone representative from Marian Central at the girls state meet.
