Armed Robbery in Woodstock Leads to High-Speed PursuitEdit Module
An armed robbery at a house on Throop Street early this morning led to a high-speed pursuit, according to the Woodstock Police Department.
Police are still looking for the suspects.
Officers were called to the 200 block of Throop Street at 2:52 a.m. June 28 for a disturbance in progress, the WPD said in a press release. When police arrived, they learned someone had shown a handgun during a fight and battered two males at the house. The offenders also stole property from a third person at the residence before fleeing in a dark-colored Cadillac sedan, according to the WPD.
Police found a car near the house matching that description and tried to pull over the driver, who accelerated “at a high rate of speed in attempts to elude patrol officers,” the release said.
Officers followed the Cadillac but called off the pursuit after the car reached speeds of more than 90 mph. The Cadillac was last seen by officers traveling westbound on Highway 14, police said.
The WPD did not say how many people were involved in the armed robbery. According to police, the victims and the offenders knew each other, and the victims “were specifically targeted.”
