Roger M. Schiller

Roger M. Schiller, 64, Woodstock, died Wednesday, July 18, 2012, at his home.

He was born July 26, 1947, in McHenry, to Raymond and Doris (Hamil) Schiller.

He loved his work as a civil engineer at MWH Global. He also loved music and was an accomplished guitar player, singer and founding member of the music group Hartland Express. He enjoyed photography and gardening. Most of all, he loved spending time with his 26-year-old daughter, Rachel, and being involved with her life, education and evolving career.

Survivors include his daughter; a step-son, Joshua (Maria Vitucci) Kaufman; a step-daughter, Rebekah (Andrew) Madera; five sisters, Donna (Jim) Hellenbrand, Bonnie (Phil) Bjerning, Sherry (Jim) Bykowski, Roxane Schiller and Danielle (Michael) Schultz; three brothers, Russell (Diane) Schiller, Randal (Patricia) Schiller and Mark (Sandy) Schiller; his father- and mother-in-law, Thomas and Jennie Dincecco; a grandson, Tege Madera; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Janice Schiller; and a sister, Rhonda Jackson.

A memorial service and celebration of his life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 28, 2012, at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation, 5603 Bull Valley Road, McHenry.

Arrangements were made by Schneider-Leucht-Merwin & Cooney Funeral Home, Woodstock.
