Paul H. Kruse

Paul H. Kruse, 95, Woodstock, died Sunday, Jan. 8, 2017, at Valley Hi Nursing Home.

He was born on a farm in Addison to Edward and Ella (Fiene) Kruse.  

On Jan. 19, 1946, he married Carol Hachmeister .

He farmed in Addison where he was also the fire chief. They moved to Woodstock Dec. 13, 1958. He served as the church chairman, treasurer and elder. He also played darts for the church. He was a member of the Farm Bureau, Pork Producers, Extension Council and Livestock Association.

He and Carol took many trips with the Livestock Association throughout the United States, Canada and Europe.

Survivors include his loving wife of 70 years, Carol Kruse; his children, Charles (Karen) Kruse, John (Darlene) Kruse, Janet Sherwin and Phyllis (Jack) Fischer; his grandchildren, Kurt Kruse, Karla (Brent) Stewart, Kevin (Mary Jo) Kruse, Tim (Sandra) Kruse, Tiffy (Bill) Sevcik, Chris (Teresa) Kruse, Brian (Melisa) Sherwin and Monica (Matt) Green; his great-grandchildren, Marissa and Nicholas Hauri, Bret and Juliana Kruse, Emily and Jonathan Kruse, Katie and William Sevick, Vivian Sherwin, Dylan Love, Andrew and Micah Kruse and Max Green; and his step-great-grandchildren, Aaron, Seth and Alex Stewart.

He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant daughter, Linda Ann Kruse; two brothers, Clarence Kruse and Lewis Kruse; a sister-in-law, Jean Kruse; a son-in-law, Gary Sherwin; and two great-grandsons, Alex Kruse Kaiser and Andrew Kruse.

Visitation was Jan. 10 and the funeral was Jan. 11 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Harvard.  Burial was at McHenry County Memorial Park, Woodstock.

Memorials can be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church, Harvard.
