Loretta L. Judson

Loretta L. Judson, 77, Woodstock, died Friday, Feb. 20, 2015, at her home in Woodstock surrounded by her loving family.

She was born Sept. 17, 1937, in Tiskilwa, to Lance E. and Elsie L. (Barker) Blackburn. 

On Feb. 27, 1957, she married John J. “Jim” Judson at Greenwood Methodist Church.

She was a deputy clerk at the McHenry County Clerk’s Office for many years.  She was a fabulous baker and cake decorator, making countless birthday cakes and wedding cakes for her children, grandchildren, other family members and close friends. She always was involved in family activities.  She enjoyed traveling with her husband, especially to Nashville, attending performances at the Grand Ole Opry.  She also enjoyed traveling to Disney World with her grandchildren.  Raising her family was most important to her, and the time she spent with her family will forever be cherished.

Survivors include her husband; four children, Dawn (Tim) Mahaffy, Vicky (Dan) Heidenreich, Lori (Dave) Sorensen and Jimmy (Lisa) Judson; 11 grandchildren, Katie Mahaffy, Megan Mahaffy, Sara Klabunde, Cara Klabunde, Dana Sorensen, Jacob Sorensen, Johnathan Judson, Kyle Judson, Bradley Judson, Derek Lee and Keith Lee; five great-grandchildren, Skyler, Brooklyn, Aubrey, Jack and Audrey; three sisters, Joyce (Lynn) Judson, Lanette (Michael) Perry and Bonnie Blackburn; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Mary Fair; and a brother, Dale Blackburn.

Visitation was Feb. 24, and the funeral was Feb. 25, at Schneider-Leucht-Merwin & Cooney Funeral Home, Woodstock. Interment was at Linn-Hebron Cemetery.
