Gloria H. Loy

Gloria H. Loy, 88, Crystal Lake, died Saturday, Feb. 21, 2015, at JourneyCare Hospice Center, Woodstock.

She was born June 7, 1926, to Frank and Hazel (Larson) Merrick in Chicago.

On June 8, 1946, she married Edward Loy.

She was a member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, Algonquin.  She enjoyed bowling, golfing and babysitting for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She also enjoyed traveling.

Survivors include two daughters, Kathy (Terry) Stanger, Woodstock, and Claudia (Scott) Larsen, Dundee; four grandchildren, Erik Larsen, Jennifer (Mark) Smith, Beau (Richard) Nowicki and Dirk (Kelly) Stanger; 11 great-grandchildren, Mykela, Colette and Kylie Nowicki, Peyton, Carter and Grant Larsen, Braeden and Hailey Smith, and Madison, Myles and Emerson Stanger; a close niece and nephew, Gail Walsh and Terry Johnson; and several other nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

A visitation will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25, until the funeral Mass at 11 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, Woodstock.  Interment will be at Holy Sepulchre Catholic Cemetery, West Dundee.

Memorials Masses or donations to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation would be appreciated.
