Petitions available for Woodstock elections

On Tuesday, nominating petitions for the Feb. 26, 2013, consolidated primary election became available at the Woodstock City Hall in the office of the City Manager, 121 W. Calhoun St.

Nominating petitions can be picked up from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday.

The petitions may be filed with the city clerk during normal business hours from Monday, Nov. 19, to Monday, Nov. 26. The office will be closed Thursday to Sunday that week due to the Thanksgiving holiday.

Up for election are three council member positions and the mayoral position. Dick Ahrens, RB Thompson and Mike Turner all have expiring terms. Mayor Brian Sager’s mayoral term also is expiring. Terms for each position are four years and will expire in 2017.

The remaining council seats — held by Maureen Larson, Mark Saladin and Julie Dillon — expire in 2015.
