The intersection of Hartland Road and Highway 14 in rural Woodstock was the site of a rollover crash March 28 that injured three people, two of them critically.

Paramedics and firefighters were called to the scene at around 3:25 a.m. for a collision between a semi-truck, which overturned during the crash, and a minivan.

According to a statement from Woodstock Fire/Rescue District Chief Michael Hill, the driver of the minivan, a female, was extricated from her vehicle at 4:25 a.m. The truck driver, a male, was extricated at 5:11 a.m.

Two helicopters were called in to transport the drivers to the hospital, but those plans were aborted due to bad weather, Hill said.

The minivan driver was taken by ambulance to Centegra Hospital-McHenry, and the truck driver was taken to Centegra Hospital-Woodstock. Both were in critical condition, according to Hill.

A firefighter/paramedic who responded to the scene was transported to Centegra-Woodstock in stable condition after sustaining a back injury during the extrication efforts, Hill said.

The same intersection was the scene of another crash later in the week that sent two people to the hospital.

Crews from WFRD were called to the scene of the two-vehicle collision the afternoon of March 31, according to WFRD Lt. Mike Brinkman. One driver was airlifted to Rockford Memorial Hospital by helicopter. The driver of the other car was transported by ambulance to Centegra-Woodstock, Brinkman said.
