Marvin E. Lang Jr.

Marvin E. Lang Jr., 80, Woodstock, died April 15, 2017.

He was born July 3, 1936, to Marvin E. and Grace (Patterson) Lang, Medford, Wis. 

On June 23, 1962, he married Dorothy Gilkerson.

Marvin worked for ComEd for 39 years until his retirement. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Woodstock. He was an American Cribbage Grand Master and a member of the American Cribbage Conference. 

Marvin’s last request to everyone was, “Enjoy your day.”

Survivors include his children, Marvin (Laura) Lang III and Victoria Lang; grandchildren, Candice (Dan) Nieves and Casey Troyer; great-grandchildren, Alexis, Briana and Naomi; a brother, George (Joyce) Lang; and stepmother, Lulumae Lang.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dorothy; a daughter-in-law, Amy; and siblings, Peggy Scheel and Jules “Dutes” Lang.

Visitation was April 19 at Querhammer & Flagg Funeral Home, Crystal Lake. The funeral was April 20 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Woodstock. Interment was in McHenry County Memorial Park.
