Eugenia Pearl Mansfield

Eugenia Pearl Mansfield, 88, Tomah, Wis., formerly of Woodstock, died Friday, April 10, 2015, surrounded by her loved ones at Tomah Hospital.

She was born July 26, 1926, to Nils Edwin and Petra Malmstrom on a farm in Bull Valley.

On May 17, 1947, she married the love of her life, Albert Mansfield Jr.

She was a graduate of Woodstock High School and started her working career as a telephone operator for Illinois Bell. She spent the majority of her work life, however, in the medical field, at Kishwaukee Valley Medical Center and Memorial Hospital, Woodstock. 

She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Tomah and a past member of the Woodstock VFW Auxiliary and the Fraternal Order of Rebekah. She volunteered at Gunderson Clinic and the Veterans Hospital in Tomah. Her life’s passion was being a homemaker and cooking and baking for her family.

Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Kay (Terry) Sunderlage and Susan Gusinde, Tomah; three grandchildren, Sean (Ann) Sunderlage, St. Peters, Mo., Kelly Sunderlage and Katrina (Eric) Becker, Tomah; and seven great-grandchildren, Christian and Elizabeth Sunderlage, Kirsten, Sarah and Hannah Hogan, and Anderson and Jack Becker.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Tekla Austin; and a brother, Herbert Malmstrom.

Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 15, at Grace Lutheran Church, 1300 Kishwaukee Valley Road, Woodstock, until the funeral service at 11a.m. Interment will be at the McHenry County Memorial Park.

Memorials can be made to the family or Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Tomah.
